Nonya Global is the personal brand of Sharon Wee, author of cookbook "Growing Up in a Nonya Kitchen" (2012).
Wee adapted her mother's traditional Peranakan recipes – Peranakan being a sub-culture found in Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia.
Inspired by the visual richness Peranakan culture has to offer, much of the branding drew from iconic Peranakan tile designs and the dominant colours of pink, blue and yellow.
